What Causes Severe Pain While Urinating And Swelling On Penis?

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Mar 2015
Question: Well, I masturbate a lot and the last year it has been extremefully painful to pee. I tried stopping for a week but it didn't do much good. At one point a few weeks ago I couldn't pee at all, the pain was unbarable. I am afraid I have a UTI.. When I pee the top of my penis enlargens and only a little stream of pee comes out, and it goes everywhere, it is not powerful, if I squeeze the top of my penis it comes out faster but it goes everywhere and it really hurts. Also the cusp of my penis where I normally squeeze is very sore to touch, it feels like its bruised.. I am a teenage boy and I don't want to go to the doctor incase they tell my parents I masturbate.

Brief Answer:
Topical steroids will help to reduce mild edema and inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
First thing is, masturbation is completely normal when performed in privacy without hurting genitals.

Too much masturbation can cause genitourinary problems, mild bruises over glans, lack of concentration, lack of work performance etc.

Masturbation never cause UTI that you must know. So,don't bother about that.

Now,you feel pain at glans penis while urinating and it doesn't comes out normally. It seems to be phimosis, in medical terms, where foreskin cannot be retracted over glans penis and because of this you are facing difficulty in passing the urine.
Also, your frequent masturbation might cause mild bruise, balanitis (infection of glans penis) as you said it is 'very sore to touch' or edema over glans penis leading to further narrowing of the urethral opening.

You are advised to stop exacerbating masturbation techniques and are encouraged to masturbate by moving the foreskin up and down over penis just like what happens during sexual intercourse.
This phimosis will be subsided with the growing age.

At present you can apply topical steroids over glans which will help to reduce inflammation with topical antiseptic creams.

If still problem persists then you must see general surgeon for surgical treatment and yes don't hesitate to see him as he will maintain all the things confidential.
Do ask if there is any doubt.
Thanks and Regards,
Dr.Sandip Kabra
