Question: My date of embryo replacement was 16 XXXXXXX 16. No. of embryo replaced is 03. My bHCG on 26 XXXXXXX 16 was 269.7 mIU/mL. Two months has passed and I am pregranent. I am using Cyclogest Pessaries 400 mg 1 BD, Tab Progynova 2mg 2 BD, Injection Gestone 100 mg 1 OD and tablet folic acid. I need to know that is there any alternative of Gestone injection or any other medicine or gel so that Gestone inj should not be painful. Secondly I went to Gyne and she told me to stop Progynova and start duphaston. My first doctor told me you should not stop progynova. What should I do now?

Brief Answer:
Aqueous form of progesterone advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I'm Dr Manisha Jain, infertility specialist and I will be answering your query.
Gestone injections are indeed very painful but now a days aqueous formulation of these injections are available which are very less painful and easily tolerated.
They have same effect and thus can be used instead of usual oil based Gestone injections.
Yes you can stop progynova and start duphaston now.
Eventually these injections will be stopped too like around 12-14 weeks of pregnancy so once your placenta starts functioning she will wean off extra medicines.
Take care and in case you have any questions in future you can contact be directly also.
