Brief Answer:
Symptom suggestive of arterial disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

Pain running from hip down to the leg during walking suggests peripheral vascular diseases (PVD).
PVDs are arterial diseases caused by obstruction of arterial blood supply to the extremities.
The symptoms are present only during activity and disappear while at rest.
Doppler study is the investigation commonly performed to know the status of the arteries.
Thus, I suggest you to consult a surgeon for clinical assessment and thus management.
Shunt is a procedure done in vascular surgery wherein a diseased segment of blood vessel is removed is removed and is replaced by healthy segment of blood vessel.

Thanks and take care
