Question: 31 year old female. History of high blood pressure. Wbc 11.1 rbc 5.51 hgb 17.4 hct 50 mcv 92 mchc 34.5 rdw 13 platelets 361. Doctor believes I have polycythemia. Been suffering from severe joint pain, fatigue, itchy, parts of my skin burn. Is this primary or secondary polycythemia.

I do live at a high altitude but have never had an issue in previous blood work for last three years. Does it make a difference that all my levels are high, would only certain levels be high if it was the altitude. Also my appointment with specialist is not until March 2nd. I have had severe abdominal and kidney pain the last couple of days. Is this from the polycythemia
