Brief Answer:
Multifactorial; antipsychotic drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

Schizophrenia is a multifactorial disorder. Genetics, environmental, social and family stress can be contributory to schizophrenia.

It can develop abruptly or gradually. There may or may not be an obvious cause.

As it is a serious mental illness, it needs drug treatment. Antipsychotic drugs like olanzapine or risperidone (prescription drugs) are the first line treatment options for it.

Hope this answers your question.
Thanks.

Sir,
If we make all positive changes like change in location, away from family members, getting socially more active and start earning money. I think this will definitely make person busy and happy and this leading no stress life. this will change his life to its original and thus no more treatment required. pls suggest

Brief Answer:
Drug treatment is almost always needed in schizophrenia.

Detailed Answer:
Dear, I agree that change in lifestyle and environment can help in recovery of person suffering from schizophrenia.

But as this is a psychotic disorder and the person lacks insight about his illness, complete recovery without drug treatment is extremely difficult.

The dosage of drugs however depends on the severity of illness.

Hope you find this suggestion useful.
Thanks.

My friend is taking Treatment from psychiatric for last 12 years. I found a change but still not complete recovery. May be his daily lifestyle remain unchanged . Brief Answer:
drug treatment is same everywhere.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Sorry for the late response.

The drug treatment is same everywhere. Anti-psychotic drugs are universally used and used as per standard treatment guidelines. Continuous monitoring of treatment under a psychiatrist is must.

Its just about change of environment. If you can spend time with him, engage him in some work and other activities like painting, reading, music etc, this can work wonders for him.

Hope this helps.
I wish for speedy recovery of your friend.
Regards.
