Brief Answer:
Antiallergics like cetirizine should help

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Runny nose is caused due to an allergic component usually associated with some viral infections. Taking some antiallergic like cetirizine tablet once a day for 3-4 days usually provides relief.

His blood sugar needs to be brought under control. High blood sugar caused serious damage to major organs and by the time the damages are apparent, nothing more can be done. So act fast. His not getting the sense of runny nose could be due to the nerve damage that has already occurred due to high blood sugar. If that is the case, not much can be done to restore the sense.

Brief Answer:
It is not something serious. Could be due to muscular weakness.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

Thanks for specifying the details. It is possible that since the muscles of one side are not working effectively, the nasal secretions are not being cleared adequately and it might seem like runny nose. However, I do not think that it indicates something serious.

Hope that helps.
