Question: My baby girl is about 4 months 12 days. Tomorrow she had armpit temperature of 100.1 C. She was crying. She has not passed stool since thursday last. I gave her decolic and sumol drop one time as directed by doctor at the time of discharge. Now her temp is 98.5 to 99.7 C. She is sleeping and feeding as normal. What should I do? Please advice.

Brief Answer:
Observe the baby

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for asking on this platform

Passing stool 6-7 times a day or once in 5-6 days is normal in this age group if there is no associated vomiting, abdominal distension or poor feeding.
I won't get worried for single documentation of mild rise in temperature.
The most common cause of excessive cry in this age is some colic and in most of the cases colic medication provides relief. You can repeat the colic medication in case of excessive crying.
I would suggest you to observe the baby for any rise in temperature and bowel movement.
If she does not pass stool even after 3-4 days from now consult your pediatrician for clinical evaluation and to assess the need of some suppository or laxative if needed.
Give her feeds as usual.

You can ask me further if you have any more doubt.
Regards
