Brief Answer:
Subclinical Hypothyroidism

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noed your concern.
It is quite common for TSH to rise in your age group. If the T4 is normal, and TSH alone is high, it is called as subclinical hypothyroidism. It is one of the adaptive mechanisms of the body to reduce metabolism in old age. There is controversy regarding treatment if the T4 is normal.
However, if the TSH is above 10, it is better to take a very small dose of Thyroxine. 12.5 to 25 mcg Synthroid may be tried on empty stomach and recheck the TSH after 6 weeks.

Natural supplements doesnt do any harm and you may try that as well along with Synthroid

Binu
