Brief Answer:
Its petechiae most likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome to the HCM

The single dot appearing on the palm of your child is most likely a Petechiae due to subcutaneous capillary bleed. It can occur due to mild trauma and has nothing to be worried about. It will go off spontaneously in the next few days and requires no treatment. Also, no investigation is needed as it can happen even in perfectly normal children.

Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you out in any further questions.

Take care

Brief Answer:
It may take 1-2 months to go off completely

Detailed Answer:
Hi
It may take1-2 months to go off completely. There is medical treatment for this. If it's not bothering your child and he is asymptomatic as you already mentioned, then I would suggest you to ignore it.

Brief Answer:
He has bruise on Palm

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have seen the pictures you sent. He has bruise on his palm and the red spots are petechiae as I had mentioned earlier due to subcutaneous capillary bleeds. You need to take the following measures to help him:

- Clean the hand with antiseptic soap and water and wipe it dry softly.
-Apply a cold pack or ice bag wrapped in a wet cloth to the bruise once for 20 minutes to stop the bleeding from capillary if the spot seems to be increasing or painful.
- Apply an antibiotic ointment such as soframycin or neosporin to the Palm there after twice daily.
-After 48 hours apply a warm wet wash cloth for 10 minutes 3 times per day to help reabsorb the blood.
-Give acetaminophen (e.g., Tylenol) or ibuprofen for pain relief.
- In case he skipped his vaccine at 18 months involving tetanus (DPT), the immunise him.

In case, there is increase in pain, redness or any pus formation, then visit a surgeon for proper clinical examination to rule out any foreign particle stuck with in skin due to fall on road.

Hopefully this will help you.

Take care
