What Causes Rashes Under The Right Breast When Diagnosed With Shingles?

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Sep 2016
Question: I had shingles in July of this year, on Friday September 2 I pulled a muscle in my right side lifting a box. This morning I have noticed a rash in the area of the pulled muscle and it goes from my right side towards under my right breast. Could the shingles I had in July be reactivated in a different area?

Brief Answer:
Kindly upload an image for review!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

It is best to review an image of a rash to tell what the possible cause is. For this reason, I will suggest that you upload an image for review. This way, your response would be personalized and helpful. Also, precise whether this rash has crossed the midline or not.

To upload an image, simply click on the link to upload a file and follow the instructions. If this proves difficult, please send the image by mail to YYYY@YYYY and request that the image should be uploaded to your query.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to be shingles....Send a followup image in 48hours!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the image.

I have reviewed it and the nature doesn't suggest shingles at this time. I will like to review another image in 48hours so as to be sure that there are no new developments suggestive of shingles.

For pains, I will recommend tylenol for now. Also, local pain creams are also encouraged.

I hope to hear from you soon. Keep me posted on your progress,

The rash goes to the spine from that level. Could it be just from the muscle i pulled along the rib?

Brief Answer:
Not typical from a pulled muscle!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is really not very distinct nor typical of a specific disease condition. I will want to only manage pain at this time and monitor closely to make the necessary calls as it gets more typical of a known disease conditions. I understand the importance to get specific answers at this time but that is simply not very feasible at this time.

I wish you well.
