Brief Answer:
These may occur from time to time.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Irrespective of use of antibiotics, it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. Giving steam inhalation to your child helps in reducing the congestion. Give Asthalin only if there is noisy breathing or respiratory distress. Gurgling with lukewarm water should provide relief in case of throat problems. You need to give paracetamol (P-250) to bring down the temperature when necessary. If paracetamol is not effective in bringing down the temperature, you need to use Meftal-P (mefenamic acid) which is more effective. However, I do not think that they need to be used simultaneously. Also use tepid sponging. Giving some antiallergic like cetirizine will take care of the runny nose. Give Nasivion only if steam inhalation does not provide full relief. Use of this medicine is likely to increase the tendency of recurrence. A to Z syrup does not need to be given unless there are definite signs of a vitamin deficiency.

Hope that helps.

Regards

His fever already gone, there's no alarming nasal congestion, chest heaviness is mild...
My main concern is his weakness for which he bearing a tendency to sleep frequently and showing disinterest to his food.
What is your advice or guidance so that he become alright soon. Is there anything to get worry or does he require any pathological tests for such weaknesses. His half yearly examination is going on and he already skipped two subjects due to fever.
Pl. guide.

Brief Answer:
Be patient.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.

I understand your apprehension. Give him colorful fruits and vegetables regularly. They contain vitamins, minerals and plenty of antioxidants which should help in boosting the immunity of your child. Pathological testing will not help.

Be patient. The weakness will gradually go away.
