What Causes Pressure In Eyes?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Mar 2015
Question: Experiencing what I can only describe as a pressure in my right eye only, no injury or recent infection.
The eye is not red or irritated, and my vision does not seem yo be compromised in any way so far.
The pressure is quite uncomfortable but not constant, if I attempt to move my eye by looking up or down,
that is when the pressure is painful. This has been happening for about the last 15 hours.

Brief Answer:
Possible Glaucoma?Needs IOP and fundus exam.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

I understand your query and concern.

You seem to have features of Subacute Glaucomatous changes in the eye.

This can present with raised intraocular pressure/IOP.

Its extremely important for you to get the IOP measurement along with Complete fundoscopic examination if the eye to assess the changes accurately and to plan further management.

All such painful changes needs to be carefully attended at the earliest to prevent permanent nerve damage within the eye.

Thank you.
