What Causes Pressure In Chest In A Person With High BP?

Posted on Tue, 10 Nov 2015
Question: Feels as if something is stuck in the middle of my chest which makes food pass through it slowly. I dont have pain but just a little heavy feeling. Saw a doctor. Got an ECG which was fine. Got some blood tests like sugar, thyroid, kidney, liver function which is also fine. No problem is swallowing food. I had high BP - 150/110. Maybe this is causing stress. What can it be?

Brief Answer:
this may be due reflux disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for putting your query in hcm. It may be due to reflux disease. Reflux can lead to heaviness in the chest. For wgich I will advise you to take a proton pump inhibitor like rabeprazole along with a prokinetic agent like levosulpiride. Also your blood pressure is high and this also need to be controlled. I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. Wish you a good health.

I am going to meet the doctor for high BP. I have started gyming and have lost 7 kgs in a month so hopefully should help. Even the doctor here said its reflux. I am adviced omez D and Mucaine Gel for 4 weeks. Although I must admit that I am a bit irregular with the medicines. I am stressing too much over this. I feel like food is stuck in my chest/throat and want to stick a finger and vomit it out.

Brief Answer:
keep cool as stress also increase acid production

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back. You should take medicine regularly. Also keep cool there is nothing to keep your self stressed as stress also lead to increase in acid production which will further worsen your symptom. Wish you a good health.
