What Causes Presence Of Blood In Stool?

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Aug 2015
Question: Hi! I have noticed blood in my stool yesterday and today. I hadn't been eating well in the past couple of days because of mild diarrhea. Five days back after having mutton for dinner, which was extremely spicy, I had gas and uneasiness for a day, and felt normal only after I vomited a day later. I regained my appetite yesterday, however the stomach doesn't feel perfectly fine and at times slight giddiness after relieving myself. I had noticed blood in my stool a couple of times earlier, and was also diagnosed with mild antral gastritis after an esophageal endoscopy done three years ago.

Brief Answer:
Please provide more information and consider these guidelines

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXX
I appreciate your concern
Blood in stool is always a matter of worry, Here I will be requiring further details for better assessment of the condition like
Your age and complete medical history like diabetes or liver disease
Was it mixed with stool or XXXXXXX blood?
Was it associated with pain and irritation around perianal region.

Meanwhile you should follow these guidelines
1. Avoid constipation by taking laxative or stool softeners
2. Have lots of fresh fruits and steamed vegetables with dietary fiber supplements which will increase roughage in the intestine.
3.Have plenty of fluids to maintain good hydration.
4. Avoid fatty fried spicy and junk food or carbonated drinks

Please write back to me with these details so that I will be able to tell you more accurately
Best wishes
