Question: Another opinion please. When sitting or lying down I feel what I would describe as a bubble popping in my leg or flutters. Do not feel it when moving.

Brief Answer:
Needs investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
From the description provided it seems that you have muscle twitches or fasciculations. These are small, local, involuntary muscle contraction and relaxation visible under the skin arising from the spontaneous discharge of a bundle of skeletal muscle fibers. Fasciculations have a variety of causes, the majority of which are benign.
The most likely and common causes are
1... High levels of stress, anxiety, nervousness or excitement or anger.
2... Consumption of excess of alcohol or caffeine.
3...low levels of calcium, potassium, magnesium etc
4... Low levels of VIT B12
5... Use of medicines like anti asthmatics, anti seizure, weight loss medicines etc
6.. Certain disorders like hyperthyroidism or hypoparathyroidism.
A nerve root compression at the level of lumbar spine can also cause this.
I would advise you to get tested for above mentioned causes, stop alcohol and caffeine, do regular stress buster exercises like deep breathing exercises and yoga and taking good nutritious diet.
If some deficiency comes in your tests, then take those supplements.

I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Brief Answer:
Need blood investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Seeing the flutters is not necessary. You need a few blood investigations as mentioned above to find the cause. The pain can also be due to the same reason. Not likely to be related to Dilantin as you are taking it since childhood.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Could it possibly be due to Cholesteral medication? I read the Internet to much and hope it is nothing more serious.

Brief Answer:
Yes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Statins - cholesterol lowering drugs are likely to cause Myalgias/ Muscle twitches. To confirm this, you can undergo a blood test- CPK (CREATINE PHOSPHO KINASE) enzyme estimation. If this test reports a high value, then the muscle pains in the leg may be attributed to the usage of statins. In such a case, either the dose of the statin has to be reduced or it is necessary to switch on to a different statin preparation.
Regards.
