Brief Answer:
Iron therapy for treatment of plantar fasciitis

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are having so much pain from plantar fasciitis. It is a very difficult problem to cope with and treat. Orthotics can help but I have found that going to a good supportive shoe may help more than anything else. you can also do stretching exercises of the plantar fascia of the foot. You doctor can give your anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naprosyn and even injections of steroids. An orthopedic surgeon specializing in feet can lengthen the plantar tendon which would help too.

But your question is whether iron supplements help. I searched in the medical literature and did not find any articles about iron and plantar fasciitis. You can give it a trial though. I would recommend taking a daily iron ferrous sulfate 500 mg once to twice daily would be the XXXXXXX I would recommend. You may experience black stools and constipation with iron supplementation.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
