Can Ferrous Sulfate Be Replaced With Iron Pills For Treating Anemia?

Question: Hello. My husband was told he had a low blood count. Doctor said to take ferrous sulfate. I bought him iron pills with the equal amount to the ferrous sulfate. Is this okay or should I get the ferrous sulfate pills.
