Question: Hi today i had an early pregnancy scan because i got pregnant from iui. The scan showed the heart was beating. Now i feel a bit of pinching around my belly and i have some brown pinkish discharge on my panties. They said i wad 6+6 today. Is this normal after a scan (it was vaginal) to bleed a little

Brief Answer:
Ultrasonography indicated

Detailed Answer:
Dear xxxxx,

Any bloody discharge - fresh red or brown during any stage of pregnancy is indicating some threat to the pregnancy unless and until proved otherwise.

Please get your ultrasonography done ASAP. This will inform you about the integrity of the pregnancy. If the USG shows undisturbed pregnancy with the heart activity of the baby, you will have to take care to save this pregnancy. Please report to your Gynaecologist ASAP. You will probably then be put on some Progestational preparation like Susten which helps to stabilize the pregnancy. Also take due bed rest as advised by the Gynaecologist.

I would appreciate if you uploads the reports of the USG for my review.

For any further information or advice, I am always available for you, xxxxx.

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy seems undisturbed

Detailed Answer:
Dear xxxxxx,

I had advised you to get ultrasonography done for the cardiac activity of the baby. Hence, reports were more important than these still pictures. These pictures do not reflect up on the heart activity of the baby. However, you have mentioned in your history that 4 hours ago, the heart activity was present.

Moreover, the pictures show that the gestational sac is undisturbed.

Both these are good signs. So your pregnancy is undisturbed. However, it had shown a trend of disturbance by occurrence of some bleeding. Please do not attribute to any cause like scan. Whatever may be the cause, the pregnancy was at risk. Hence, I would advise you to start on some Progestational preparation as advised in my previous communication; of course with the advice of your Gynaecologist only. Also avoid strenuous activities. Take bed rest for about a week after the bleeding has stopped. With occurrence of any amount of bleeding, please report to your Gynaecologist without any delay.

For any more advice or information, I am always available for you, xxxxx. You may now consider posting a good review with 5 star rating for me.
