What Causes Pink Colored Urine After Having MMR Vaccination?

Question: My baby is 1 year and 3 months old. Today she had MMR and Synflorix booster dose vaccinations. By evening when she was passing urine, the color of the urine was light pink. Is it normal for my baby to pass pink color urine after the vaccinations??

Hi...its not the usual reaction to MMR and synflurix vaccines. At the most after MMR a fever is expected in 3-5 days. But pink urine is not.

I have a few questions -
1. Has she been fed any beet root or any other pink or violet colored feeds in the past 2-3 days.

2. Does she have any pain or discomfort while passing urine?

3. Is there any family history of kidney stones?

4. Is there any high grade fever?

Thanks. No other problem. She had beetroot rice this afternoon. We have been feeding her beetroot regularly but we are noticing the urine color only today.is it normal?

Hi...as I had expected. Nothing to worry. Its not imperative that always it should happen. Probably this is the first time and may or may not recur again.
