Brief Answer:
Neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
It sounds like you may have developed a neuropathy or skin condition. Neuropathy is a nerve pain and can be quite painful with a burning pins and needles type pain. Skin conditions can cause some soreness to the skin covering the face or to the scalp. Since it is only on one side it sounds more like a neuropatthy. We do not always know what causes neuropathy, sometimes it is diabetes or a vitamin deficiency. I suggest that you see your regular doctor for an exam and you may also need a referral to a neurologist. If your doctor feels that it is more of a skin condition then referral to a dermatologist may be what is indicated.
I hope you get some relief soon.
