Question: I am experiencing mild pain in lower part of throat since last two months. Consulted an ENT specialist, and was being treated for GERD, however no improvement. Pain was more while moving the head lower also feel tenderness while touching lower part of throat (between collarbone). Doctor suggested to do USG of neck and blood test for T3, T4 & TSH. USG showed bulky thoiroid gland. T3=187 ng/dl, T4=13.2 μg/dl and TSH <0.01 μIU/ml.
Doctor suggested to check with Endocrinologist. Kindly advice.

Brief Answer:
you need a thyroid scan.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX hi! welcome to HCM!
Bulky thyroid and functionally overactive , that is what you are dealing with. before jumping to treatment you need a thyroid nuclear scan. it may be a graves'disease, or a toxic nodule, so to confirm the diagnosis, we will need a 99tc thyroid uptake scan.
please get it done and get back to us.
regards!
