What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain During Menopause?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: I had a fever last night 100 degrees, with abdominal pain and then got a severe headache - today my headache and fever are gone but my abdominal pain persists (feels like it did when I had an ectopic pregnancy - no chance of that right now) I am a 49 year old female. I am menopausal - also my limbs arms/legs are experiencing weakness/heaviness - everything seems to be a struggle. could everything be related to menopause? I feel terrible!

Brief Answer:
Fever is likely to be due to an infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for your query.
Menopause can cause hot flushes and sweating but not fever.
The fever is likely to be due to an abdominal infection either in the urinary tract or the genital tract. If the fever and abdominal pain persist, it would be better to see a doctor, have yourself examined and tested as you may require antibiotics.
