What Causes Periodic Pelvic Pain Along With Delayed Period?

default
Posted on Mon, 17 Aug 2015
Question: hi, i haven's seen my period in 2 months and for the past one week i've been experience periodic pelvic pain like my period is on its way but it hasnt arrived. my boobs are sore but the pelvic pain is really terrible for my period to not yet have been here.i am not sexually active. the last time i had my period it lasted for about two days and the color was very weird.it was very dark and almost really questionable as to if it were blood or just pure dirt. i know i didnt eat much last month so i attributed my absent period to that but this pelvic pain is about to be the death of me.
also i forgot to add my periods are always irregular but atleast when i dont have a period...it just never comes. I don't have lingering pain like this with no period.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to ovarian cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The lingering pelvic pain that you have can be related to delayed period or an ovarian cyst or endometriosis. Not eating properly or too heavy exercise can cause a hormonal imbalance causing a delay in the periods. PCOD also needs to be ruled out. It is best to consult your gynecologist for an ultrasound scan and to get the hormonal tablets prescribed to have normal periods.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.

Thank you very much. This seems very accurate, i actually forgot to mention that i have facial hair and hair in other wrong place which could be a sign of pcos like you mentioned. I hope to go see a gynecologist one day when i'm able to afford one. thank you very much. This has helped give me peace of mind.
