Brief Answer:
Continue prescribed medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Can understand your concerns.

Patchy pneumonitis suggest infection in lungs.

For this we have to give antibiotics and if ronchi are present then nebulisation is also given.

Amoxycillin is the first line drug for organism causing pneumonia in children.

I think that the treatment given is correct and you should continue the prescribed medicines.

An examination after two days of antibiotics will determine further course of illness.

I hope this will help you.
Wishing your child good health.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Yes, it's curable

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome once again.

Yes, this is definitely curable. If symptoms decrease like decrease in cough, respiratory distress, fever, then it means that child is improving.

Normally, course of antibiotics for 7 to 10 days is required.

During illness, there is some decrease in appetite. This improve as child recovers.

If there is no improvement then repeat X ray chest and blood culture is done. An examination by pediatrician after 2 days of antibiotics is also necessary.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
Repeat X ray chest after 7 days of treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It's good that child is clinically improving.

A repeat X ray should be done after 7 days of treatment.

Pneumonitis once treated doesn't occur again so frequently. Avoid person who has cough.

Take care.
