Brief Answer:
Not of consequence if only around periods.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
As such, palpitations are triggered in some women around periods, due to hormonal changes.
Stress, panic, anxiety, dehydration, emotional crisis, smoking, drugs etc can all sometimes cause palpitations.
Palpitations only during periods and not otherwise should not be a cause of concern.
If you find that their frequency and intensity is increasing or you are having other ominous symptoms alongside - chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest etc, then you should consult a Cardiologist.
A basic ECG ( electrocardiogram ) and further tests if indicated, will rule out any underlying cardiac disorder.
However, if they are noticeable only during periods, without accompanying symptoms, then you can safely assume that they are hormone mediated.
All the best
