What Causes Painful Multiple Vesicles On Penis After Masturbation?

Question: Hello,

I had lesion caused by masturbation and dry skin on my penis. Not the first time that this has happened, and I usually apply polysporin for a few days, and it all clears up. However, the lesion started to look a little odd... My mind immediately jumps to something that looks like a cold sore, which of course means herpes.

It's mildly tender to the touch. I have no other sores on my body other than this single one. It been there for about 4 days now and hasn't really gotten better yet. I had a circumcision about 5 years ago.

Genital Herpes presents with multiple vesicles that are painful.

A genital ulcer just below the glans is visible. Kindly answer the following to have a better idea.

Is the lesion/ulcer painful.
Is there any discharge from the area, if so what is the color and consistency of the discharge.
Is there any inguinal lymph node swelling or tenderness
Have you had a recent infection treated with antibiotics
Are you allergic to any medication
Have you recently had unprotected intercourse with a partner whose STD status is not known or confirmed to be negative.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. To answer your questions:

- The lesion/ulcer is not painful. I cannot feel it on a regular basis. If I press hard, it can be tender.
- No discharge
- No swelling or tenderness around the inguinal lymph nodes
- No recent antibiotics, however, I did receive a influenza vaccination 3 days ago
- No medical allergies
- No unprotected intercourse

Hello again.

Based on the answers that you gave its likely to be Non-sexually acquired genital ulceration. Topical lignocaine and corticosteroid plus antibiotic ointment can be advised for healing and resolution. Most likely the ulcer will resolve. If it persists then you should consult a urologist or venereal disease expert to devise further workup.
