default
Posted on Mon, 24 Oct 2016
Question: my entire legs hurt when i get up from sleeping.it feels like my muscles all the way to the bone.it hurts to stand on my feet too. the pressure on them eventually loosens them up to walk. i have to balance myself to stand at first.if i sit t a movie for a few hrs.it is very hard to stand and painful.i am almost afraid i will fall.after a five minutes of walking the pain goes away in the muscle of my legs. My bones in the length of the left leg still hurt.i can stand it though.i just shift my wait even when standing still.i had a high dose of steroids for a allergic reaction in the summer .i was pain free! by fluke only. i can't stay on steroids i know. i am mid 40's.My left hip is hurting right now too sitting on it. i forgot to mention this.i have had some hemangiomas show up in my left foot too in the last six mo. and some ankle swelling. when i get up i hurt in both legs and feet evenly though.pain scale of one to 10 is a nine. i am almost in tears.

Brief Answer:
Further investigations are required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam

I can certainly understand your concern.

As per your clinical narration, the possibility of steroid induced muscle damage seems high.

It's very important to investigate further through an MRI pelvis including both hips and X ray both bones lower legs.

Additionally it's important to check for serum CPK levels and complete ANA profile to assess for muscle damage and connective tissue disorder respectively.

Further management if any is based on test results.

Meanwhile analgesics like Diclofenac sodium 100 mg should keep you pain free.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these pills to you.

Thank you.
