What Causes Pain In The Head Of The Penis And White Penile Discharge?

default
Posted on Thu, 30 Mar 2017
Question: I broke up with my ex two months ago. He informed me yeaterday that he went to the doctor because the head of his penis was sore and he had painful uronation at times. He said that the doctor said it didint look like anything but he prescribed him bactrum and amithrocyin (spelling?) "just in case" he also recieved a shot of some kind. I felt it was irresponsible of his doctor not to find out if it was an std before treating it. I am going to the doctor to get tested bur i am so nervous and i have to wait a week to get my results. I have no symptoms other than i have noticed that my discharge has been ver very white. There is no odor and it is not chunky or itchy or anythinf juat extremely white. Im justbworroed it would be something incurable. If it were herpes or something incurable would i have developed symptoms of it was about a month ago that we had sex?

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
From the history you probably don't have any herpes infection as it has been a month and you dint have any symptoms like pain. It is probably a Candida or fungal infection as the discharge is more white. My advice is you should get yourself examined by a Gynaecologist. Start using a good antifungal vaginal cream. Maintain hygiene.
as per your explanation your partner seem to have balanoposthitis. Ask him to continue with the medicines.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Thanks and regards

Can a doctor tell just by examination that it isnt an std? Im just concerned that the antibiotics given to him the bactrim and zithromax were for std. he originally went because there were sores around the base of his penis but the doctor said those looked like razor burn or a possible ingrown hair. I am getting checked tomorrow but i know that its going to take a week to know and i am ver scared. My discharge is now more watery and still a milky white i just seem to have more of it and im not sure why. Again there is no odor. I am just concerned that he complained of painful urination and a sore tip of of his penis. It would have made me feel a lot better if his doctor had tested him for stds but instead he just gave him a shot and those two medications "just in case" i hate not knowing and i hate having to wait a week to know myself :( he said the doctor did not use a swab on him or didnt even make him urinate in a cup. Therefor he could not know if there was stds correct? Im sorry im sure youre very busy i am just extremely anxiety ridden about all of this

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Any infection that can be transmitted on sexual intercourse is STD. A doctor can definitely have an idea what type of infection is it and whether the investigations are required or not. You should consult a Gynaecologist and get yourself examined to clear out any doubts. Secondly if you have any doubts ask your doctor to get you tested.
Pain in urination is a sign of urinary tract infection and it is there in gland infection too. He should Continue with the Medicines advised by his doctor.
