Hello Dear,

Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.

The pain described by you could be due to costochondritis i.e. inflammation of the joints between the ribs and the sternum. Rarely Atorvastatin can also cause the pain and swelling of muscles and joints.

Since you have not mentioned any other symptom, I take it that there is none. You can take a pain killer and apply some analgesic gel. Stop taking the Atorvastatin for sometime. If the pain still persists then You should consult your PCP for a detail examination and management accordingly.
