Usually filariasis is unlikely to cause epididymo-orchitis. Filariasis more commonly cause huge scrotal swellings and hydrocele.

What treatment you are given includes both filarial and epididymo-orchitis . In filarial infection eosinophil will be high. I think suspecting high incidence of filariasis in your place your doctor must have given prophylactic drugs.

You may discuss with your doctor the need for filarial treatment without proved infection.

Please suggest some medicine as i fear of side effect and permanent damage these days i fell erectile dysfunction and some time no morning wood ,i used to get loose clear motion and urine smell differently .....also one doctor gave me medicine like. Levowic 500 _ levofloxacin tablets also aceclofenac and paracetamol ,ultracet and unicarbazone forte but i felt uneasy and stopped the tablet as Tlc count raised as in report. ..iam newly married is it any problem for future iam wearing langot as suggested plz suggest some good medicine now a days i have cincentrated little pain in left scrotum and bulging of left testis down the cord are dwollen and flappy

Hi,

Sorry for late reply.

Levofloxacin is generally given for epididymo-orchitis. But if you are having side effects of that you may consult your doctor and change antibiotics to ofloxacin with ornidazole.

Rest drugs you need to continue. You need to give scrotal support so that pain is reduced.

Epididymo-orchitis is unlikely to cause erectile dysfunction. At your age erectile dysfunction is mostly due to anxiety and stress. I suggest you to be stress free . If it doesn't improve then consult a urologist.

Epididymo-orchitis is unlikely to cause long term problems in fertility.

Your loose motion could be due to Levofloxacin. As antibiotics cause loose motion. Smelly urine could be due to urinary tract infection which might have caused epididymo-orchitis.

As you take treatment your symptoms should reduce.

Mam thanks for the answer and moral.support. Only one request mam if u can precise the medicine to take as i have mentioned all my medicine. I have been using. Please suggest a correct set of medicine. ....because these are all medicine given by three different doctor iam bound to concern as pain was more and work load .
Iam writing my present situation now my stool is ok urine smell has subsided little bit ,sleep iam getting. Some tireness still there ,a pain concentrated in left scrotum not deep but it is loose and spongy with swelling in chords not seen early morning
Iam taking preesently decet bd ,metrogyl compound ,pantop 40,lecope,clonafitbd and beneficiale ....morning erection noticed today but un consious ...also suggest any more medicine i can use and schedule ......
Any way thanks a lot mam u find some time for me iam morally charged these days doctor. Have no time ,they also avoid to check phsically also they prefer to give their own medicine. ,object other medicine. Please manm support. This may be the last follow up but thanks a lot may god bless u

Below are drugs which you need to take

Hi,

Be stressfree.

If such a patient comes to me I advice them following treatment.
-Metrogyl twice daily after food
-pantop 40, 30 minutes before food twice daily till you take antibiotics.
-clonafit is for sleeping problem.. you may stop and see if your are getting sleep you may completely stop.
-Decet bd is taken thrice daily for 21 days . It is its course.
-Lecope may be stopped if taken for one week and if no itching is there.
-Beneficiale once daily in afternoon

Except pantop all taken after food.

along with these I advice to take painkiller like aceclofenac with serratiopeptidase. These are prescription drugs . Taken twice daily.
