Question: Hi,
I have had the Mirena inserted 31/07/15, and in the past few weeks starting to get some unusual pains in my vagina stabbing pains that come and go randomly and also pain in my left pelvic area. I have been doing regular excercise and when skipping etc I feel a lot of pressure in the vagina like something is going to fall out. Although I am excercising regularly I have also put on 6kg from insertion. Are these normal side effects?

Brief Answer:
Needs to get examined for mirena position

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your query.

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about mirena.

Following is my reply:

1) These are not always normal symptoms after mirena.

2) You need to get examined by your doctor if Mirena is in right place as it might have slipped down from its position and you are feeling it to be falling down.

3) I suggest you get examined by your doctor to confirm position of mirena.

I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.

Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya
