What Causes Pain In Hands And Leg After Flu?

Question: Had the flu that went into puemonia and had red swollen painful spot on elbow atthe same time. Then three weeks ago had extreme pain in both hands and left foot. Every day since it will change spots but on either foot, toes fingers or hands. Doctors are puzzled. Blood tests neg for Lyme , gout, liver, thyroid and blood count good. Pain limits walking. Oh yea within the three weeks was around a lot of mold and I have a lot if allergies

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that in my opinion it could be palindromic Rheumatoid arthritis or reactive arthritis . It is advisable to get Rheumatoid factor , Anti CCP antibody tests , ESR , CRP done to look for that .

Reactive arthritis generally occurs after infections and will settle on its own .You can discuss this with your treating doctor , if he feels he can go ahead with this testing.
