What Causes Pain In Eyebrows And Cheekbones?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: I have some acheness intermittently in my left temple and around my left eyebrow and cheekbones. I also have some irritation in my left nostril. I've also been experiencing some tickling, tightness and twitching around both eyes and cheeks. I've noticed the symptoms off and on for several months. My nose doesn't seem to be congested or runny. I do have a history of dust allergies but they haven't bothered my much over the last few years. Should I be concerned about this or be able to deal with at home?

Brief Answer:
It can be sinusitis, treat with antibiotics and analgesics

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic.

Based on the history you have shared, it seems as if you are suffering from an acute attack of sinusitis. The bony air spaces in cheek bones, forehead and behind the orbits gets accumulated by puss and inflammation and thus cause such symptoms. It can be confirmed easily on Xray Paranasal sinuses. The history of dust allergies and nose inflammation also support the diagnosis.

It is commonly treated with, antibiotics like augmentin or azithromycin along with antihistamines like cetrizine or loratidine. Using anti inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen or ibuprofen will help with the pains that you are experiencing. You can also use steam inhalations and hot beverages for some extra relief.

Hoping you a speedy recovery. If you dont have any more questions, please close the discussion. Regards.
