What Causes Pain In Chest, Throat, Loss Of Appetite And Lightheadedness?

default

Question: Hello, I am a 27 year old male. Towards the end of the last year I experienced chest and throat pain. Eventually, in December, I went to the ER because I was feeling very lightheaded and like I was going to pass out while driving. The hospital did a bunch of heart tests and found nothing wrong. Now, in the past week, I have had similar symptoms, but my throat would also close up and I had two nights when I couldn't sleep. I saw the doctor on Thursday and he prescribed Nexium for the chest and throat issues. The Nexium has helped, but the last few days I have had very little appetite and have felt not myself and disconnected from everything. I know this sounds like an anxiety issue, but I am just scared and worried because it has been constant and I don't know when it will end. I am forcing myself to eat and exercise, but the disconnectedness and worry doesn't ever leave. What should I do and how long will this last? This is new for me, so I am quite concerned. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Might be due to gastro esophageal reflux disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
You need to relax, your tests are normal, you are fine.

Do you have acidity problem?
Do you have sinus infection?
Do you have difficulty in swallowing?

Nexium is less likely to reduce appetite. You have also mentioned that the nexium has reduced your symptoms. Based on this your symptom might be due to gastro esophageal reflux disease

So I would have suggested you to continue nexium for a week. Along with this avoid spicy food, alcohol and smoking if you do. Eat frequent small meals instead of heavy once. Avoid lying down immediately after food and walk for at least 15 to 20 minutes post food. Kindly follow this measures it will be beneficial.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you.
Take care.
