What Causes Pain In Back While Bending Or Moving Around?

default
Posted on Mon, 17 Nov 2014
Question: I have had a pain in the left mid-side of my back for a few days now. The pain is less in the mornings and increases as the day goes on. It is not a steady pain but hurts when I move around, especially when bending over to pick something up. Could it be a pulled muscle? I woke up with the pain one morning. My appetite is good, No constipation and no fever. I am taking aspirin and a heating pad seems to help. I am 64 years old.
Thank you,

Brief Answer:
Spine problem.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

The back pain which gets worse when bending or moving around is quite characteristic for spine problem. Most likely you do have spine disc herniation which can compress on your spine and give the pain.
Pulled muscle is also possible, but the symptoms should be less intense day by day.
Aspirin and heating pad is a good temporal solution. But I suggest you to have proper diagnostics. Please consult orthopedist with this issue and consider spine MRI.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
