What Causes Pain At Incision Site After Dermoid Cyst Removal From Left Ovary?

Question: I had a dermoid cyst removed from my left ovary 9 days ago, I have pain at the incision site since yesterday, my abdominal area is very tender. No redness, no drainage, edges are well approximated. Why this sudden pain?

The reason for sudden pain Could be due to collection of fluid inside the wound. Though it may not appear externally initially.

The second possibility could be some nerve entrapment while suturing which is getting irritated now. I suggest you to consult your doctor and get examined once. By this the 2 conditions may be diagnosed and treated.

Hi,

You may continue applying ice to the area as it reduces odema and any collection of fluid may reduce. Start pain killer like aceclofenac with serratiopeptidase. This also reduce odema and inflammation.

If with applying ice and pain killer also pain still persist then consult your doctor.
