Brief Answer: Middle ear problems. Detailed Answer: Hi, In my opinion you have middle ear problem like secretory otitis media, or eustachian catarrah/ middle ear infection. It is difficult to analyze problem without clinically examining the patient. If I were your treating doctor I would give anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol with decongestant for about 5 days and see how you feel. If symptoms worsen, antibiotic like penicillin may need to be added to prevent/treat bacterial infections. It is advisable to undergo audiological test and evaluate the ear status before starting the aforementioned treatment. So if feasible, book an appointment with an ENT specialist. Hope I have answered your query. Thanks.

Thankyou, I also note that the eye on that side of my face sometimes gets blurry then corrects itself, has happened 3 times now, would this have anything to do with the ear ? I am concerned that my hearing in that ear is a lot duller than the other, can infection cause my hearing to fade ? When I stand up after sitting or laying down is when the fluctuations occur, and lasts for a couple of minutes, all this is related to an infection in the middle ear ?

Brief Answer: Eye complaints unlikely to be related... Detailed Answer: In my opinion your eye problem is not related to ear problem. But the middle ear infection can cause ear pain , ear block, reduced hearing as well as ringing in ears. Apart from middle ear infection, other external ear conditions like wax can also cause it. Hence forth I urge you to visit a doctor and get it treated appropriately. Thanks,
