Question: Dear Dr Tayal, I do not think that you heard of a condition like I have. Every insertion of a tendon, everywhere on the body in time formed,,skin and soft tissue became numb, lower legs in particular affected also are chest ,neck. When I move become more flexible, but if I sit down for 5 minutes becomes almost lifeless(per say). Because the skin is affected any move or touch is it amplified 20 times over. If I lift my arm is like lifting 20 pounds. Specialy on the head, which is very sensitive. Blood test shows normal, scan to the head shows normal. I have 2 area in the spine that shows some damages. Would you be interested to help me and if you need documentation I will provide

Brief Answer: Nerve related cause likely. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting your query. I can understand your concern. I will try to help you to the best of my knowledge and expertise. The feeling of numbness that you have is distressing. Many causes of such sensations are there. These include injury to the back or spinal cord, Lack of blood supply to the limbs as a result of plaque formation in the blood vessels, diabetes, stroke, multiple sclerosis and underactive thyroid. Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body and a lack of vitamin B12 can also cause such sensations. Firstly, I’ll request you to get your blood sugar/HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) tested to rule out Diabetes mellitus. Also get your thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the symptoms improve. I encourage you to get an appointment from your neurophysician as soon as possible to have proper investigations and prescription medicines. I hope this answers your query. In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out. Wishing you good health. Regards. Dr. Praveen Tayal. What is the most amazing thing is that scan to the brain normal, blood test including ESR,Cprotein reactive ,normal, I did not have a scan for the spine, The legs when in sitting position become stiff and numb, the chest and neck follow same patern. When I wake up in the morning I feel that my body is all covered with dead skin. I have to walk a lot to warm it up. All the tendons as I mentioned are becoming numb and non flexible( maybe a bit) After sitting down this soft tissue is slowly becoming hard . Includes , head, face, chest, neck I mentioned the shoulders. The moment I explain to a doctor his/hers answer is ,never heard of it ,maybe is anxiety.I think this symptoms leaves anybody wonder. Again, while moving legs head ,neck, face, hands are almost normal. When stop moving the energy in all described is not there. Having the feeling that all this soft tissue is not flexible. Imagine after few hours of sleep I wake up will all this non flexible soft tissue on me . Blood pressure is ok. Imagine that I wake up and I have to rub ,chew shake, just to make all this (back of the neck also)getting a bit of life. Before used to take a couple of hours before they all become stiff again, now in 5 minutes I am in that horrible condition. THX

Brief Answer: Cause needs to be investigated. Detailed Answer: Hello. Thanks for the details provided. From your history this seems to be due to a vitamin B 12 deficiency or multiple sclerosis. Do get the serum levels evaluated and start with proper supplements. Do have fresh fruit juices daily to replete any electrolyte imbalance. Try to relax and be stress free. Doing deep breathing relaxation exercises and yoga will also help. Hope my answer is helpful. Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries. Regards.

Brief Answer: Likely to be UTCD. Detailed Answer: Hello. I think you are referring to Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease. This is a benign disorder and may progress to connective tissue disease in 20% cases. The chances of recovery are there. This can be treated symptomatically by immunosuppressive medications. Do consult a rheumatologist for proper treatment. Regards.

How do you get paid ,please, by the question or by time.I have a heart surgery bypass. With all this tendons and ligaments being affected, the area of the cut with wire has 20 years, became not to much expanding, therefore when I eat I am breathing heavy and after 4-5 minutes my chest is tightening a lot giving me tingling on a face ,which I have them most of the time, btw, sitting down the chest with the breathing makes my whole rib cage been tight

Brief Answer: Cardiac disorder needs to be ruled out. Detailed Answer: Hello. The payment is by question not by time. The tightness of the chest can be related to an increase in the cardiac work after eating. At your age I would advise to have a complete cardiac work up to find out any heart related complications early. To avoid such episodes it is best to avoid spicy and hot foods. Taking Vitamin B12 supplements and immunosuppressive medications will help in the long ter relief. Regards.
