What Causes Moving Pain Throughout The Body In A Patient With Fever?

default
Posted on Fri, 18 Sep 2015
Question: Hi, my daughter has had a temperature for 5 days, she has a bit of a sore throat but the biggest symptom is what I can only describe as moving pain (stomach, hips, finger, ankles, etc) yesterday she woke up and said her achilles heel on both legs were hurting (she would whimper to walk) a few hours later the pain and moved up to her calf. This morning she cried getting out of bed and kept standing on her tip toes. I had to carry her to the bathroom. She said pain is in her calf on both legs and also her thigh on one leg. We've been to the doctors twice and they say it is viral but I feel something is wrong.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
It is due to post pharyngitis effects. Don't worry.

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you to my virtual clinic HCM!
I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

When we get fever and throat infections, our body's immune mechanisms fight against the bacteria and the blood cells are depleted in that. A lot of energy is also spent and we get what is known as Energy Debt state.

In the convalescent period patient gets Fluid and Electrolytes imbalance and your daughter is having all what is normally expected in such kind of diseases.

What is the management?
*Give her Pedialyte and plenty of clean drinking water.
*Fresh juices of fruits made at home.
*A multivitamin once daily.
*15 min of sun exposure with sunscreen lotion on.
*Tylenol for pain.
*Fruits, vegetables and salads.
*Avoid strictly coffee, tea, chocolates, energy drinks and Soda.

She will be alright in a couple of days. This is just due to the nutrients deficiency and the fluid and electrolytes disturbance. Nothing serious as it is all a temporary and is reversible. Body makes its new blood cells and as the new progeny gets entered the system, she will be fine.

Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you in no time. If satisfied here, please give a generous five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.
For any disease you have, a timely follow-up after sometime regarding the treatment efficacy and to see any need to change the treatment options is very necessary. Keep a follow up some days after this visit session ends.
