Question: What does low temp indicate? My husband, 77, has a severe sinus and bronchial infection. His temp is 88.

This temperature is too low and either related to serious systemic infection or low temperatures in the house. If the temperature is low at home, please let him put on something warm and turn the heating system on. If you think the problem is not related to low temperature t home, then going to the emergency room would be the best decision at this time. Normal body temperature should be more than 96F.

Sinus and bronchial infection is not system and rarely causes low body temperature unless it is complicated.
