What Causes Loss Of Appetite After Accidental Electrocution?

default
Posted on Thu, 18 Dec 2014
Question: Back in July 2014 I was shocked (electrically) High Volts, Low Amps (almost like a taser). Anyway, after that I became constipated, loss of appetite and I ended up losing around 7-10 pounds. (from 150/147 to 140). After a good month my appetite came back to 100% and I went from 140 to about 144 in two weeks, after another three to four weeks Im at around 147-150. My question is, is it normal that isn't taking me so long to gain the weight back? all CBC, ultrasound, etc came back clean. Also, Im not sure if this is a factor but Im VERY high anxiety and was worrying greatly about the ordeal, So Im not sure if that had an effect on the lack of weight gain.

Brief Answer:
Its normal in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

I understand your query and concern.

The rate of weight gain in your case seems to be well within the normal physiological limits.

The rate of weight gain in your case is under 5 pounds over a 4 week duration. So this is normal.

You need not be anxious.

Thank you.

Is it "normal" that I lost so much weight due to appetite loss? I was also still avidly working out.

Brief Answer:
Its not a matter to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.

It's normal to lose weight due to loss of appetite.

Its a good sign that you have recovered lost weight spontaneously.

This pattern suggests a strong normal physiological backup mechanism in your body.

Thank you
