Question: my son is 3 year 5 moths old, generally complains for leg pain. Pain is generally between ankle and knee, though sometimes in thigh as well. Few says it is because he takes milk just before going for sleep hence causing acidity. Please suggest, if that's the reason or someother and remedy for the same.
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.
From the description provided by you it seems to be growing pains. A physical examination by your doctor will confirm the diagnosis.
Growing pains normally occur in children between 3 to 7 years of age. They complain of pain in the calf muscle or infront of the thigh more towards evening. Rarely they complain of pain and wake up crying from sleep. There is no associated pain the joint or swelling of the joint.
Message of the leg may help the child during a episode. Paracetamol as prescribed by your doctor may help in pain relief. The symptoms improve as the child grows.
Milk has no relation with this. Please continue giving milk.
