What Causes Left-sided Pain Near Groin And During Urination?

default
Posted on Fri, 16 Jan 2015
Question: I have pain near my groin on the left hand side only. It is a dull pain. It hurts a little when I urinate. I have been on antibiotics for the past 3 days but there seems to be no change. Urine was at one point cloudy with a strong odor. No blood noticed. No pain in the back by kidneys.

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound and urine culture.

Detailed Answer:
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!

I would recommend a urine culture to determine if you have infection or not. Culture is the gold standard to check if you have infection or you don't have infection.

Also I would recommend getting a ultrasound with Doppler on the scrotum and inguinal area. This would rule out conditions like varicocoele and hernia which is common in you age group and presents as dull pain in the scrotum.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-manuel-c-see-iv/66014 I would gladly help you. Best wishes
