What Causes Irregular Bowel Movement, Back Pain And Right-sided Abdominal Pain?

Question: For Dr. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX Thank you so much for taking the time to check on me. This is so kind of you. I am still in a lot of pain. It has to be a problem with my bowels. The pain is in my back and also my right side. I don't have regular bowel movements and it feels like there is a build up on my right side (maybe bile). After everything that I have already been through, this has to be the last resort as to what the problem is. What type of doctor should I see for this? Thank you again.

Brief Answer:
It appears as biliary leak

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to me.

According to your symptoms it appears you have biliary leak. This could be slippage of any ligature inside which is causing bile leak and causing pain.

I suggest you to get MRCP to know the site of leak and confirm it. Also get ultrasound abdomen done to know the amount of collection. Depending upon collection the treatment depends. If everything comes normal then it must be treated as fat indigestion.

For this problem you need to consult a experienced gastrosurgeon (Mch in gastro)or a hepatobiliary (Mch in hepatobiliary system) specialist. In my last answer I had adviced for CT abdomen. If CT is done then send me report attaching to your next follow up and also no need to again get ultrasound.

Waiting for the reports.

Regards
Dr Deepika Patil
