Brief Answer:
BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms it seems that you are suffering from BURNING MOUTH SYNDROME in which there is a burning, stinging or scalding sensation inside the mouth and it is more common to occur on tongue while can also occur on palate, inner lips, cheeks and gums can also be affected..

There can be few common causes that can cause burning mouth syndrome like Dry mouth or oral yeast infection known as Thrush.

- I would advise you to start gargling with a numbing mouth wash that contains Lignocaine as it will relieve you by reducing the burning sensation..
-You can also start taking a multivitamin tablet daily for one month.
-I also advise you to suck on ice pops as it will soothe the mouth and tongue and reduce burning.
-Take a soft and bland diet and limit intake of spices.
-Maintain a good oral hygiene..
-Drink plenty of water preferably cool..

This is the initial supportive treatment that you can follow..

I would also like to get some more information from you so that I can guide you further ad more specifically..
-Do you have normal salivation or mouth feels dry?
-Is there any white coating on tongue or cheeks?
-Do you have any heart burn or any reflux of stomach contents into throat and mouth?
-Are you taking any medicines?

Along with this if you like to give any additional information it will be helpful in guiding you better.

Waiting for your reply..

Wishing you good health..

Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
Can be Vitamin deficiency.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..

Welcome Again..

Thanks for the answers.

As you do have have any specific medical history and all the answers are negative, there seems nothing serious and the burning sensation can be due to Nutritional deficiency [Iron, Vitamin B12 and folic acid].

Also if you are stressed due to any reason it can also cause burning mouth syndrome..

-Just continue taking a multivitamin tablet daily for one month and if you start feeling improvement continue for one month more [total of two months].
-The supportive treatment should also be continued that is gargle with numbing agent when burning occurs.
-Other remedies advised above should be continued.
-If you take tobacco and alcohol, limit the intake.
-Keep stress minimal and doing meditation can help..
-Keep yourself engaged more in your work and the activities you enjoy doing

Hopefully you will start seeing improvement within a month..

But in case if you do not see any improvement even after one month then a thorough clinical examination and investigation like Blood sugar, thyroid profile, allergic testing etc. has to be done.

Wishing you a quick recovery..

Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
Does not seems related to HSV 1.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

No, as per your complain it does not seems related to HSV 1. If it were to be HSV infection then after burning sensation for 2 to 3 days there must have been outbreak of small blisters. Without those blisters and prodromol symptoms it would be harsh to call it HSV.

Do not worry and continue the above advised treatment..

Any further queries are welcome, we would be happy to help..

Wishing you a quick recovery..

Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
Prodromal symptoms does not last for about 1 month..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome Again..

The prodromal symptoms of HSV are burning and tingling sensation of the skin surface or the mucosa [if it is inside mouth] but does not last for more than 3 to 4 days and if the burning is persistent for 1 month it is not the prodromal symptoms of HSV.

The medications prescribed to you by your ENT are to reduce inflammation and pain but mostly these medicines does not resolve burning and pain due to burning mouth syndrome..

Seeing a dentist or a Neurologist comes at a later stage, but first complete atleast one month course of medicines and remedies I have advised you..

If then also there is no relief consulting an Oral Physician for proper evaluation and investigations can be done..

Any further queries are welcome, we would be happy to help..

Wishing you a quick recovery..

Thanks and regards.

Dear dr.honey

Thanks for the kind responce

I hope im not bothering you with all the quistions but i still have some concerns

There might have been a misunderstanding about the issue

The burning is not prisestant for 1 month like consntant 24 hours its kinda comes and goes

I have burning and tingling for like 5 minutes or so then it goes away and comes back an hour , a day later sometimes stays longer for like an hour or something and sometimes for just a second or so
But its never prisistant for a whole day continuse
And its not just burning and stinging sonetimes i get this weird sensation of feeling a droplets of water above the lips or on the tongue

Brief Answer:
Don't worry dear, I have already understood your problem..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome Again..

I have very well understood your query that you have intermittent burning and stinging and by saying 1 month I meant burning and stinging sensation that is happening intermittently but from about one month..

Feeling of water droplets over the lips and tongue is also due to the same problem..

I have very well understood everything you tried to explain and in burning mouth syndrome some patients experience continuous burning while others experience intermittent burning..

Again I would like to tell you that please do not panic, just take the treatment I advised you, as it is not looking due to HSV.

But still if you want to confirm the cause by consulting a doctor and get clinically evaluated, then you can consult a dental specialist ORAL PHYSICIAN and get evaluated..

But I would still advise you to take a one month course of the multivitamins and other remedies I explained..

Any further queries are welcome, we would be happy to help..

Wishing you a quick recovery..

Thanks and regards.
