Brief Answer:
Check liver function properly, exclude insulinoma, watch out for signs

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

It is important to check if the tremors are essential (non pathologic) or essential. Essential tremors do disappear when the objective is held. Pathologic tremors, as seen in Parkinsons disease, persist when an object is help. Other signs like reduced writing (micrographia) and stiffness could be important to be checked.

The liver is very important in the metabolism of glucose. An altered liver function could predispose to hypoglycemia. Doing blood protein level tests (serum Albumin) and an abdominal ultrasound could be important to be sure there is no liver problem to exclude low glucose levels of liver origin.

Certain tumors like insulinomas could lead to hypoglycemia. An abdominal CT scan could be helpful.

You might need to have sugar with you at all times to treat any hypoglycemic crises if they set in. You might have to watch out for signs of hypoglycemia like tremor, fatigue, palpitations, abdominal pain.

Kind regards

Dr Bain
