What Causes Hot Spots Paresthesias On Buttocks, Thighs And Legs?

Question: In the last few weeks I've been noticing what I might term as hot areas on my body. And what I mean by this, is not hot as in a sunburn. It's like the sensation of quite a warm liquid touching the skin in that area in a flowing motion. It's not sharp, just gradual and gentle, but definitely with a feeling of movement as with warm liquid. At this very moment I am feeling it under me on my buttocks. But I also feel it occasionally on a thigh or other part of my leg. It's almost constant now, as opposed to intermittent. Ah, another good analogy might be the kind of heat you feel when you suddenly realize you are sitting on a heating blanket, or a heated seat of a car turns on.

I hope this is enough information to get some feedback on the sensation. Other things you might be interested to know, if they correlate with the problem above:

-I just got over a fairly nasty cold that lasted a week and seems to have lodged itself as a mild infection in my sinuses. And currently I occasionally feel a little weak from that, but it's improving. My partner also experienced the same cold.
-I have, for the past few years experienced numb sensations in the quad area on the front of my upper legs.
-I also experience phantom smells, particularly when triggered by slight cigarette smoke. When this happens is smells like the room is filled with smoke and sometimes I have to go outside where my brain realizes the smoke doesn't exist enough to abate the sensation.
-I don't have a history of mental health issues, and only go directly to my doctor if a problem seems to affect my ability to work or function.
-I do have a history of recurrent cellulitis infections in my legs over the past 15 years. I maintain a regimine of careful foot care and hygiene.
-I am male, 46 years old, 5'10", 235 lbs.
-Apparently my prostate is slightly enlarged, which is not a concern of my doctor with respect to my age.

I mention the above things in case you feel they are related to the initial problem of hot spots. What do you think of this? I would appreciate it if you were able to direct me to online resources if you have some ideas about what may cause the hot spots. They are not debilitating in anyway, just concerning.
