What Causes Herpes Lesion On The Penis?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Jul 2016
Question: following a three year sepation and after resuming sexual relatons for the past four months, my husband developed a herpes lesion on his penis two weeks ago. we have not had any sexual contact since and in the meantime, the lesion is since healed and disappeared. During our 30 yr marriage I never had sex with anyone else, but he had multiple infidelities over the years and a long affair with one other specific partner. During the four months since our return to having sex with each other, he has not been wih anyone else.
When the herpes lesion appeared we stopped having sex and went to a doctor who did blood test on my husband and sent a specimen to the lab (from the lesion). The results came back...blood work showing evidence of herpes 1 and not herpes simples 2) but lesion itself howed herpes simplex 2. I have no lesions.
How can this be? If the infection is new, where did it come from? and if it is not new, why did his bloodword come back negative for herpes symplex 2?
when can we go back to having sex with each other?. I have never had any symptoms of genital herpes and neither has he in the past.,

Brief Answer:
Can you upload these results for review?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this findings and all the inconvenience this has caused you. I will like to review these results myself to tell what the exact infection is and whether it is an active infection or not. However, if there is no active herpes lesion, there is no way you can contract it as only an active lesion sheds viral particles that can cause an infection.

To upload an image, click on the upload icon to the right of your dashboard and follow the onscreen instructions. You may also send it directly to customer service at YYYY@YYYY and request that it should be uploaded to your query.

I hope to hear from you and promise to respond promptly. Until next, I wish you well.
