What Causes Herpes Keratitis In Eyes?
Question: How is Herpetic Keratitis transmitted? I was wrestling with my brother when he pinned me and got really close to my face. He started talking and spit on my face, right into my eye too. It wasn't much. Maybe just a drop, but he had an active cold sore and I'm worried I will get this disease. I've never had cold sores or any type of hsv-1. Please help

If your brother was positive for Herpesviruses, Spitting can cause herpes keratitis in eyes because HSV1 found mostly in oral area. Immediately the eyes should be washed with plain water and if redness, ulcers, irritation, develop immediately eye surgeon should be consulted NO self medication should be tried.
