What Causes Heart Palpitations While On Advair Diskus?
Question: I am a 52 year old woman with Hashimoto's, allergies and some asthma, and osteoarthritis. I have been suffering from irregular heartbeat and palpitations. I currently take Advair discus 500/50. Other than the irregular heartbeat and some palpitations I have no other symptoms. I feel ok, I am not any shorter of breath than normal and I don't have any extra pain. I did have some ribs out of place that were just put back in this week. Should I be concerned?

If you are thinking that the fracture in the ribs has caused the irregular heart beat, that is less likely, unless you start having shortness of breath or chest pain. That is because for the ribs in order to touch the heart, have to go through lungs. That doesn't mean that the heart problem in itself is not a problem.
I would recommend that if this is something new and happening just today, you go to the ER and have the doctors there give you the treatment.

I didn't fall. I was exercising and twisted wrong, I think. Anyway, chiropractor put back and ribs back into place. I have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation so I have had problems like this before but they had disappeared pretty much until now. I can change my position and it will go away. It isn't constant. I also have a kind of burning pain in the top of my stomach which seems to be directly related to what I eat and the heart seems to be less steady after I eat.

I don't think it is related with the rib fracture, but anyway, it still is important to be treated. It doesn't necessarily need a cause to restart. The fact that you had atrial fibrillation, makes it more possible that it might have returned again.
